SGI Altix350 Servers
The Altix 350 server is similar to the Origin 350 but instead of 4 MIPS R16000 processors, it uses Intel ItaniumII processors and industry standard DDR SDRAM DIMMs.
Each Origin 350 chassis takes up only 2U in a standard 19inch rack.
Processors from a single 1.3GHz ItaniumII w/1.5MB L3 Cache to dual 1.6GHz ItaniumII w/9MB of L3 cache
From 1GB to 24GB of main memory per chassis, 192GB maximum per system
NUMAlink3 architecture that scales as processors are added, with 6400MB/sec bi-directional links
On the back of each Altix 350 compute module:
1 serial console port
2 NUMAlink ports
4 PCI-X ports
Each compute module has 4 PCI-X 3.3V seperated on 2 busses one 100MHz the other 66MHz
The base compute module has an IO9 which has the following ports:
10/100/1000BaseT ethernet
2 Ultra160 SCSI busses(1 internal, 1 external) for 320MB/s total SCSI bandwidth
Internal IDE port for DVDROM drive
Real time interrupt input and output ports
Alternatively they can have an IO10 that has the following ports:
10/100/1000BaseT ethernet
Serial ATA ports for the 2 internal drive slots
Internal IDE port for DVDROM drive
4 external serial ports via breakout cable
Real time interrupt input and output ports
They can have hot swapable redundant power supplies.

Altix 350 systems come with a fresh full installation of openSuSE linux. Media is not included unless otherwise noted.
Altix 350 systems come with a 90day(from receipt) warranty that covers the hardware against failure. A 12 month warranty is available for an additional 10%.
